The White House is considering a backup plan that would sidestep a Texas judge and re-launch the issuance of scores of work permits to illegal immigrants, according to a newly leaked internal memo.
The memo, prepared after a ‘regulations retreat’ last summer by the Department of Homeland Security, lays out four options to bypass the judge’s block of work permits, according to The Hill.
The options include a mix of permits for both legal and illegal immigrants.
They range from offering permits to ‘all individuals living in the United States,’ including those who are in the country illegally, to offering them to those who are in the country based on an unexpired visa. … Read the full story by J. Taylor Rushing.
