Ensuring the safety and security of our communities

The following is a statement from Dale L. Wilcox, executive director and general counsel of IRLI, on the Supreme Court’s decision on Dec. 4 to allow the Trump administration’s travel ban to take full effect:

“This decision represents a victory for the rule of law as well as protecting America’s safety and sovereignty. The President is within his legal authority to take appropriate measures to protect the American people.

“The Court has given an encouraging sign of how it assesses the merits of this case. Should the Court hear appeals on the coming decisions of the 9th and 4th circuits, it will be a further opportunity to repudiate the judge-shopping and extra-constitutional actions that have been employed and encouraged by open borders advocates in this matter.

“IRLI has defended President Trump’s national security executive order from the first case filed in Washington state back in January to now. We have vigorously defended his order in multiple lawsuits and courts throughout the nation. We will continue the fight on behalf of the American people to final resolution and victory in the U.S. Supreme Court.”
