Should non-citizens have the right to arrest U.S. citizens? The question comes as some states, like California and Illinois, are trying to recruit illegal immigrants to fill vacancies in their police forces.

NTD spoke to Matt O’Brien, a former immigration judge and the Director of Investigations at the Immigration Reform Law Institute, about the risks of such hiring practices—and how the defund the police movement has played into police forces’ recruitment challenges.
