US President Donald Trump promised today that there will be a “bipartisan agreement” on young immigrants if the US Supreme Court. validates the opposition of his Government to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which protects thousands of “dreamers”.
The program, decreed by former President Barack Obama (2009-2017), prevented the deportations of some 800,000 people who came to the United States as children, but the Trump Administration objected to the application of that measure considering that it exceeded the powers of the executive branch.
