Yahoo! Noticias: They seek to prevent two prisons from hosting undocumented immigrants in California city

The small town of McFarland, in California’s Central Valley, has another obstacle to overcome this Monday in its plans to convert two local jails into immigration detention centers, an initiative that according to defenders of immigrants violate state law SB-29, which limits these contracts.

The Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) presented a “friend” report on Monday to the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, which is handling the case, refuting the city’s arguments.
